1. The way in which something is constituted, arranged, or planned.
2. The gathering and organization of the equipment needed for an operation, procedure, or task.
Gaming (gā′mĭng)
n.
1. The playing of games, especially video games.
Now if we are to put both of the definitions of "Gaming Setup" then we will get "The gathering and organizing of equipment needed for the playing of video games." Now that we have an official definitions of a "Gaming Setup." Gamers are a lot more organized than we thought they use to be. The original image was that they were these fat people on couches and bed that sat in front of a Tv for hours on end. In this new modern generation of console our Gamers are becoming more Professional, for instance Level cap is a great model for this Professional image.
To give use a little more clarity on how we should setup or systems is more of an opinion, but in this I will show many different ways and styles of having your "Gaming Setup." There is many way that you can setup your systems. Major ways of just keeping yourself organized:
- Where am I going to keep all of this stuff?
- Desks
- Entertainment Centers
- Maintenance
Now you're probably wondering where or how you will have a setup with all the stuff you have. One way is to decide which one of these is better for you: a Desk or and Entertainment Center. Now each of these have pros/cons. The difference between the two is massive.
For desks you will be maximizing the littlests of space you have. For this instance having that much space on a desk is great to have. Their are many styles of desks that are out their on the market for instance their are "L-shaped" desks which are the best if you want a dual monitor setup and a Tv off in the corner of the desk. It maximize all the space you have. Also if you have a lot of paper work it helps with maintaining that as well.
Another added bonus of having a desk is that you are able to have either a desk chair or you can stand (standing is actually a lot healthier for you than you actually think, it keeps your spinal cord in alignment and makes sure you aren't hurting yourself for playing for to long in front of a screen.) The final thing of having a "L-shaped" desk it that you are able to be a lot more uncluttered than you are cluttered with an entertainment system
For the Entertainment system you lose a lot of space because of the furniture you have and that if you are recording that you don't have as much room to use that equipment as you would like. As for different sound qualities you are further away from the screen. Also you can choose different sound options such as having a choice of a headset or surround sound which isn't as accurate as the headset, but gives you a better feel for the game and the true hard work of capturing the sounds that were recorded or made.
Finally Maintenance is a key thing to have while in a "Gaming Setup." You want to manage your cord flow make sure you tag cords that go from one direction and to know what they do and how they manage that. Another note provide your cords and systems with proper air flow so that they do not overheat on you and they pretty much poop out on you. On that note when you are using your setup make sure you notice how hot everything runs so you don't have anything melt something else (it does happen and will if you're not careful.) Finally make sure everything is away from water or anything that could kill your systems or electronics. By that I mean use a power strip for you major expensive/ precise electronics.
If you have made sure all of this is good then you should be golden. Cord Maintenance is the key thing in a setup after that make sure you have all of your stuff organized in draws or a file. Something that will keep you organized use.

This amazing home theater features one of the largest screens ever installed in a home (18-feet wide), and also one of the greatest sound systems on the planet. The sound system consists of 16 subwoofers, 8 tower speakers, 10 tweeters, and 3 center channel speakers, all of which are powered by a group of 35 amps. It’s hard to even imagine what this theater would sound like during a movie or while playing video games. Speaking of video games, this in-home movie theater does include a Playstation 3, and it’s no doubt one of the most engaging video game experiences that any gamer could ever want. source

This game room is 1,000-square-feet in size, and it features not only multiple console video game systems, but also a nice collection of arcade games. Dee is able to easily switch between playing his Xbox, Playstation, or Nintendo consoles since they are all connected to a 4-port switch hidden beneath the sofa. There’s a 61-inch plasma for surfing the web, watching a movie, or for playing video games. This room also has 2 other smaller TVs, surround sound with 2 subwooofers, and an AMX touch-panel to control everything. A row of arcade-style games lines one of the walls of the game room, and are connected to the Internet, so Dee is able to get updates and see other people’s records from around the world for each particular game. This 28 by 35-foot theater/game room features an awesome 13-foot wide screen that is just slightly curved in order to provide the most accurate picture possible. This theater will play DVDs and games in CinemaScope format, which is the ultra-wide format that the large movie theaters use – it’s even wider than the widest plasmas and LCDs out there. What this means is that there are no more annoying black bars on the screen during movies. When he’s not watching a movie in his incredible home theater, William Wesson (the owner) likes to play his Xbox here, and what an experience it is. He describes it best by saying, “you really feel like you’re in there. A couple of fighter pilot games are awesome. In “Ghost Recon,” you’re actually out in the field, and you have the 360-degree field of sound, and you can hear and feel people approaching from behind you in the game.” source

He constructed a 2-story building for the arcade that’ about 2400-square-feet in size – bigger than many houses! Right now, Luna City Arcade houses over 60 arcade-style machines, along with some awesome video game memorabilia, and sweet lighting. Despite Luna City Arcade looking like a public arcade, it’s not, so don’t just show-up there and expect to play. Peter does host “game days” every few months, though, where people can come and play in the arcade – there’s even a dollar bill change machine, so you don’t have to bring a pocket full of quarters. If you’re unfortunate enough to not be able to check this place out in person, you can at least drool over the pictures. source

What good would this game room be without a good surround sound system? This one has got it with a Klipsch 5.1 surround, powered by a Harmon Kardon receiver. He’s even got 4 Guitar Hero axes that are ready to rock whenever you are, as well as the Rock Band drumset and mic (not shown). The only problem with this game room is being able to actually put down the controller at some point, which should be difficult considering there’s no shortage of gaming pleasure here.source

ReplyDeleteSo for the giant list of 9 that is at the bottom of my blog is just a look at for what people have done. In my blog what i was clarifying things that you can do to your set up. As for the money is what you have yourself. Also in the blog I wrote you can use what you have at your house already just tidy it up and you can make things look nice. As you achieve the money for new things such as a new accessory for your setup.

ReplyDeleteTo correct you it's not a gaming setup, it's a battle station. I also thought it was funny when you talked about the L shaped desk setup with the duel monitors and tv setup, because that's how I had my station set for a while. I also liked the pictures of the "battle station".
